Films

I've produced a handful of videos with help from Cambridge Community Television and also volunteered there with IT stuff, like automating the production (database->XML->XSL->HTML) of the CCTV Program Guide.

If you have trouble viewing these videos:
(1) please let me know
(2) try Apple's Quicktime Player (for Mac/Windows) or xine (for Linux) if playing MPEG-4's
(MPEG-4 files seem to be the smallest and best-looking)

The Arc Toward Justice Project
In 2004, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts began civilly recognizing same-sex marriages. While predictions of calamity caused by this historic event have not come true, the legislative debate continues. The Arc Toward Justice Project is an independent effort to compile and present long and short form video of the most compellingly good - and bad - highlights of the debate.

MIT Mystery Hunt Music Video
I put this together for the teams and organizers of the Mystery Hunt. It opens with an "orientation meeting" of the contestants, now employees of "Acme Corp," with Acme's HR director addressing the crowd... a moment of high drama, then clips of the entire event, including both contestants and the game operators. The original Acme company song performed by Team Setec was written by Greg Pliska as the team's answer to Document 4.6: Morale Booster.

360x240, MPEG-4, 37.4mb, mysteryhunt-music-video-360x240.mov
360x240, 15fps Windows Media, 56.2mb, mysteryhunt-music-video-360x240.wmv

The Mystery Hunt is a two-to-three-day all-day-all-night puzzle-solving masterwork that has been an MIT tradition for many years... with teams coming from across campus and in some cases, across the country... I filmed from setup on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 through the Kappa Sig team's victory on Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:26am... I had great access to both the "game control" activities of the contest's creators and the teams. If you don't know about the hunt and/or weren't there, some of the scenes in the music video may seem a little "insider."
